Welcome to the Memorial Heights (TIRZ 5) Mobility Studies website! We need your input to develop recommendations to improve your experience getting to, from, and around the area. This is an information-gathering exercise and does not confirm the implementation of specific projects.

About

The Memorial Heights Redevelopment Authority has a stated goal to construct public facilities and infrastructure that improves the quality of life for Houston residents and communities within and around the TIRZ 5 boundaries. This goal includes supporting safe and accessible multimodal transportation projects, like the Shepherd Durham Project launched in 2022 and currently making substantial progress in the construction phase. As construction continues, TIRZ 5 has identified three adjacent study area locations that will build upon the momentum of the Shepherd Durham Project, with potential to improve drainage, increase safe multimodal neighborhood connections to destinations and regional trails, and to create safe environments for people, to walk, bike, drive, or ride transit. The three focus areas include:

  1. Roadway segments between N. Shepherd Dr. and Durham Dr.
  2. Lawrence Park area
  3. 18th, 19th, 20th Streets:
    • W.18th St. between Bevis St. & Durham Dr.
    • W.19th St. between W. 20th St. & Durham Dr.
    • W. 20th St. between ETC Jester Blvd. & Beall St. and between N. Shepherd Dr. & Harvard St.

Please spend time exploring the website, including adding your feedback to each outlined area on the map, answering a few questions, and noting upcoming engagement events for your calendar!
